6th Grade Baby Oak Update from the San Diego River Park Foundation

During the Fall semester at Montgomery Middle STEAM Magnet, the 6th grade students participated in a local habitat restoration effort in the Boulder Creek Preserve with our partner, The San Diego River Foundation. The first step was for local Boy Scouts to collect the acorns in the wild. Next, Montgomery 6th graders planted more than 200 acorns in small pots in our school garden. After the acorns grew into seedlings, they were transported to the Boulder Creek Preserve to be planted by local volunteers including a few Montgomery teachers.
